The wildcard race is starting to heat up in both the American and National League. In the American League there are 5 teams separated by a mere four games. The Oakland A's and Baltimore Orioles occupy the top 2 wildcard slots. The National League wildcard race is even closer with 4 teams being separated by 1.5 games. The Atlanta Braves and the St.Louis Cardinals hold the top 2 wildcard slots with the Pittsburgh Pirates and Los Angeles Dodgers nipping at their heels.Over the years the Cardinals have shown once they obtain a playoff berth, anything can happen.They proved it last year by tying and surpassing the Braves to win the wildcard. Ultimately, the Cardinals took that momentum and cruised to a World Series title.The format of the wildcard calls for the top 2 teams to play a 1 game playoff to decide who plays a division winner in the playoffs. I like this format because it puts the 2 teams in a do or die situation where the winner takes all. I believe this will be an exciting addition to Major League Baseball.

ReplyDeleteAllen Iverson is definitely an Hall of Famer.( NO QUESTION) Besides Isiah Thomas, Allen Iverson will go down as the greatest small guard in NBA history. Iverson received every possible accolade in the NBA with the exception of the NBA Championship.I hope the voters don't use Iverson's persona against him because he's a 1st ballot Hall of Famer in my opinion
